About Us and Governance

Building a Strong Foundation for Lasting Impact

Our Philosophy

To date, key milestones have included comprehensive strategic planning, the development of robust governing documents and policies, extensive research, and the cultivation of relationships with mission-aligned partners, advisors, and funding sources. These efforts have positioned the Foundation to responsibly steward future investments while maximizing impact for the individuals, families, and communities we serve.

Importantly, this work has been accomplished through the extraordinary commitment of our founders, board members, advisors, and volunteers, who have generously contributed their time, expertise, resources, and personal financial support. Their dedication reflects a shared belief in creating educational, transformative pathways to healing, recovery, resilience, and hope.

As we continue to grow, philanthropic investments will enable R.E.S.T. + Recover America Foundation to expand programs, strengthen community partnerships, increase access to whole-person care, and build the capacity necessary to address the growing mental health and wellness challenges facing our nation.

To protect the sacred nature of our mission, the Board of Directors of R.E.S.T. + Recover America Foundation operates as a strict Governing Board. This means our leadership holds full fiduciary authority and responsibility for the oversight, direction, and long-term sustainability of the Corporation. This is not an honorary role; it is an active calling. Each Director contributes the time, expertise, and heart necessary to fulfill the legal, ethical, and operational responsibilities of governance.

FAQs

Financial Assistance & Eligibility

We support organizations that target and reduce barriers to whole-person care for three main groups:

  • Veterans: Former service members navigating the complex pilgrimage back to long-term recovery and inner wellness.
  • The General Population: Individuals dealing with acute distress, trauma, or unexpected systemic barriers to care.
  • First Responders: Frontline personnel facing heavy occupational trauma, profound stress, and exhaustion.

We provide critical financial aid—including scholarships, grants, subsidized fees, or direct payments to qualified providers—for approved restorative modalities that heal the spirit, soul, and body. This is designed for individuals unable to access supportive services due to severe financial hardship, workman’s compensation insurance delays, or limited insurance coverage.

Recipients are selected using objective and non-discriminatory criteria based on demonstrated need and program eligibility under strict written application and approval policies.

Getting Involved & Partnering

Yes. Your financial support provides a secure, tax-deductible gift that fuels planned financial assistance programs and builds vital whole-person resource networks.

  • Corporate Grantors: Can fund our educational workshops, seminars, events, and resource development platforms to scale trauma awareness nationally.
  • Professional Providers: Counselors, educators, or recovery specialists who look beyond the conventional “diagnose-treat-cure” model can connect with us to join our collaborative referral network.

General & Governance

We are a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We support organizations that advance whole-person care and restoration for individuals facing mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges.

Our initiatives, programs, and leadership are guided by an absolute commitment to an organizational and life standard governed by Love, Integrity, and Honor.

To protect our mission, our Board operates as a strict Governing Board with full fiduciary authority and responsibility for corporate oversight, financial accountability, and policy development. This is an active calling focused on strategic planning and mission alignment.

Resource Deployment & Transparency

In alignment with our commitment to ultimate transparency, our planned budget expense allocations are strictly deployed across the following areas:

  • 10% Expenses: Community & Resource Development (Provider Partnerships)
  • 60% Expenses: Financial Assistance Programs (Direct Aid & Scholarships)
  • 15% Expenses: Educational Outreach (Curriculum, Workshops & Tools)
  • 15% Expenses: Administration, Overhead & Fundraising (Sustaining the Mission)

To combat confusion, chaos, and dis-ease, we develop and expand comprehensive educational curriculum and materials. These are delivered via online platforms, printed materials, workshops, seminars, and presentations focusing on root-cause healing.

Meet the Team

Virginia Dixon

Virginia Dixon is an author, educator, and discipleship counselor who has spent decades pioneering holistic frameworks to address the modern mental health crisis. Recognizing that chronic stress, trauma, and burnout require deeply integrative psycho-neuro-immunological strategies rather than conventional, short-term symptom management, Virginia developed R.E.S.T.™: The Re-Constitution Method. Her groundbreaking work uncovers how the soul manages stress processed by the brain in the body, creating an entirely non-pharmacological pathway to authentic, sustainable well-being.

Her Role in the Foundation: As a founder of the Rest and Recover America Foundation, Virginia’s lifelong research and educational curricula serve as the foundational bedrock for our national resource allocations. Driven by an absolute commitment to Love, Integrity, and to Honor that which is sacred, she united a strict, active governing board of directors, philanthropists, and leading medical advisors to take this life-saving whole-person care beyond private clinical walls.

Today, the Foundation scales Virginia’s vision on a national level—combating community confusion and chaos by providing the structural funding, educational workshops, and direct aid scholarships necessary to help frontline personnel, veterans, and families live in ultimate structural freedom.

Renae Flynn

Renae Flynn has worn many hats since first meeting Virginia over three decades ago through MOPS, but at her core, she has always been a faithful friend, walking alongside through the shared journey of homeschooling, marriage, and everyday life.

Today, she continues that legacy of service behind the scenes as a Foundation Board Member. In every role, she brings a deep sense of purpose, stewarding her time, talents, and resources in alignment with the calling God has placed on her life. Witnessing the impact of the R.E.S.T.™ Curriculum and Program, as hope is renewed and lives are restored, remains one of her greatest joys and privileges. As both a wife and mother of a first responder, it is especially important to her that others in this community experience the hope, resources and liberty they need to heal.
